Are you an experienced steelwork Quantity Surveyor looking for your next step?

The purpose of this role is to support and assist the Quantity Surveying department to ensure that the commercial and contractual aspects of projects are properly managed and controlled to an efficient manner and meet the demands of the business.

Must have experience working within the Structural Steel sector

  • Researching the cost of items such as materials, transport, labour and equipment.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with contractors and vendors.
  • Getting quotes from suppliers and contractors within a specified time frame.
  • Assessing the risk levels associated with a project.
  • Preparing and submitting quotations and details of costs for work to be done.
  • Assisting with bids for new contracts and supporting the activities of buyers.
  • Monitoring the costs at the different stages of a project to ensure it stays within the estimated costs.
  • Pricing/forecasting the cost of the different components needed for a project.
  • Tracking changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget projections in line with these.
  • Selecting and/or sourcing construction materials.
  • Sourcing contractors and/or subcontractors to work on the construction stage of the project.
  • Measuring and valuing the work done on site for monthly applications.
  • Dealing with financial and legal problems.
  • Liaising with the client and other construction professionals, such as site managers, project managers and site engineers.
