Resolute Recruitment are currently recruiting a dual role - Quality Inspector & H&S Manager, for a manufacturing company in the Automotive Industry based in Coventry. This will be a permanent position, within an exciting business that are experiencing a lot of growth.

Quality Inspector & H&S Manager
Location: Coventry

Quality Inspector & H&S Manager - Salary:

• £16.19 per hour + overtime

Quality Inspector & H&S Manager - The Job:

• First off inspection
• In process inspection
• Running CMM programs
• Keep the Quality areas in order and clean according to 5S method.
• Calibration – Internal and external controls, booking of external calibration activities
• Control of non-conforming product, ensuring that parts are correctly entered into casting and setting registers and reporting details to management.
• In case, under supervision, edit and modify Automatic CMM programs and carryout probe qualification in an autonomous way, etc
• Support the Quality Manager on Automotive quality tools and best practices application.
• Identify and recommend potential improvements at the quality system, for example at the control plans, quality instructions, PFMEAs, in order to welcome lessons learned and new requirements.
• Producing programs on the CMM coherently with drawings, customer specific requirements and the specific machining process characteristics (for example all the
• Carryout Feasibility Study on new or modified drawings.
• Drawings and specification check on status to be online with the last updated released applicable version.
• necessary technical characteristics for semi machined items need to be properly evaluated and introduced).
• Supplier performance monitoring – checking of all quality related sub contract deliveries (incoming inspection) and recording its status in an excel file. Keeping the Data analysis spreadsheet up to date. Including the material received free of charge by customers.
• Manage Automotive quality tools and best practices application, in a fast-paced engineering environment.
• Identify and apply potential improvements at the quality system, for example at the control plans, quality instructions, PFMEAs, in order to welcome lessons learned and new requirements.
• Liaising with customer SQA - Supplier Quality Assurance.
• Carrying out internal audits.
• Risk assessments are carried out and periodically reviewed
• Systems of work are provided and maintained that are safe and without risks to health
• Arrangements for use, handling, storage, and transport of articles and substances for use at work are safe and without risks to health.
• All employees are provided with such information, instruction, training and supervision as is necessary to secure their safety and health at work and the safety of others who may be affected by their actions.
• Where appropriate, health surveillance will be provided to employees.
• The provision and maintenance of all plant, machinery and equipment is safe and without risk to health.
• The working environment of all employees is safe and without risks to health and that adequate provision is made with regard to the facilities and arrangements for their welfare at work.(Noise assessments, air monitoring and fire risk assessments are reviewed and repeated when required)
• The place of work is safe and that there is safe access to and egress from the workplace. (
• Monitoring activities are undertaken to maintain agreed standards.

Quality Inspector & H&S Manager - Job Requirements:

• CNC CMM full programming capability, also on complicated mechanical components like for example a gear boxes.
• Basic IT skills, including MS office and particularly strong Excel skills (design a spread sheet, to setup filters and conditional formatting, to design a Pivot table) and ASE’s bespoke process management software.
• Ability to carry out MSA studies.
• Advanced knowledge of IS09001.
• Basic knowledge TS16949 quality systems
• SPC – Statistical Process Control, including QS-Stat (SPC Software)
• Ability to provide Quality Assurance management on Automotive quality tools and best practices, in a fast-paced engineering environment (ISR - Initial Sample Reports, balloons drawings, control plans, PFMAs, 8d reports, PPAPs documentation, Deviation and Concession Requests, AIMs – Action In Manufacturing, etc.)
• Ability to perform internal risk assessments including both general & COSHH.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety management requirements applicable within a precision engineering environment.
• Good communication skills.
• Basic IT skills including excel and word.

Quality Inspector & H&S Manager - Shift pattern:

• Days:- 07:30 - 16:30 Monday - Thursday & 07:30 - 11:30 Friday. Overtime available!!
