Quality Engineer required to join a luxury automotive brand based in Daventry on a permanent basis paying a salary in the region of up to £48,000 per annum plus benefits (negotiable dependant on experience).

We are looking for a Quality Engineer with a passion for all things automotive to join the Quality Team on a full-time permanent basis. Focusing on low-volume manufacturing you will carry out investigations and root cause analysis to resolve issues and implement robust containments & countermeasures which will drive quality and encourage a no-fault-forward culture. You will also take part in new product implementation (NPI) ensuring new projects are set up and monitored with quality at the heart.

Working with both internal and external stakeholders, you will drive continuous improvement using recognised problem-solving methodologies as well as fault-resolution using your knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to improve build quality.

The duties and responsibilities of the Quality Engineer:

  • Provide first hand support in all areas of problem solving, with experience in a recognised problem-solving methodology such as 5Why, Ishikawa, Pareto, Fault Tree Analysis, FMEA.
  • Lead quality issues reported during the in-build process (fabrication, carbon, general assembly, sub-assembly, prototype build) by identifying root cause, putting in place containment actions and creating permanent corrective actions.
  • Work with the internal and external stakeholders to resolve non-conformances and harness learning for future reference in design for ease of manufacture.
  • Work closely with the inline quality assurance team on creation and continuous improvement of quality control plans, validation processes and quality standard to drive built in quality and right-first-time initiatives.
  • Support the creation and auditing of operational work and check sheets.

The ideal Quality Engineer:

  • Previous experience in low-volume automotive manufacturing is highly desired.
  • Proven experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA).
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience of using CATIA or Equivalent CAD software.
  • The successful candidate may need to travel to off-site development facilities within the UK, therefore a flexible approach to travel is required.
  • Must have the determination to drive forward the business to ‘Best in Class’ performance standards in line with brand expectations and be a lateral thinker able to think outside of the box to make structured and objective decisions

Hours: Day Shift: Monday – Thursday: 7.30am – 16.15pm and Friday 7.00am – 15.30pm

Pay: In the region of up to £48,000 per annum + Benefits
