Position: Quality Engineer / Technician

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

Location: Wolverhampton - WV10

Shift: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (1pm finish on Friday)

Hours: 39 hours

About the Company:

Our company specializes in providing high-quality precision production, finishing, and stock-holding services to various industries, including automotive, construction, rail, lighting, and more. Our headquarters, processing, and distribution centre, spanning over 100,000 sq ft, along with our main production site at the Science Park in Wolverhampton, supported by two additional warehousing units, ensure efficient operations and timely deliveries.

History:

In response to evolving customer demands, we have expanded our services to include machining, cutting, drilling, punching, and sub-assembly lines. Recent investments in long-length machining lines have propelled us to new heights, particularly in the aluminium extrusion market, while maintaining our significance in the flat rolled market.

Team Size: 7

Essential Requirements:

  1. Thorough understanding of Engineering Drawings
  2. Proficiency in using Measuring Equipment such as micrometers, verniers, height gauge, shadow graph, etc.
  3. Experience in writing Work Instructions for new products and revisions to existing ones
  4. Knowledge and experience of working to ISO9001:2015 standards

Other Skills Preferred:

  1. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  2. Methodical approach with meticulous attention to detail
  3. Ability to interpret ISO standards for product tolerances and compliance
  4. Contribution to technical aspects of New Product Introduction meetings
  5. Document Control of Engineering Drawings and Work Instructions
  6. Experience in a CNC machining environment
  7. Proficient in MS Office and CAD software
  8. Completion of Corrective Actions, 8D, etc.
  9. Handling Customer and Supplier complaints
  10. Calibration, both Internal and External

Desirable Skills but not essential:

  1. Experience with CMM and Faro arm
  2. Previous work with Aluminium Extrusion
  3. Knowledge of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  4. Familiarity with TS16949 and AS9100 standards
