Quality Control Operator

Newport (training taking place in Treforest initially)

Permanent

£12.55 per hour

Monday to Thursday - 8am to 4.30pm, Friday, 7am to 12pm

Acorn by Synergie is looking for Quality Control Operator to work in Newport for their client. There will be travelling to Treforest for initial 2 months work. Fuel allowance will be given to cover whilst working in Treforest.

Essential - Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Sampling, measuring, and verifying that manufactured products meet pre-determined quality standards.
  • Maintenance of relevant Quality and product specifications as needs arise.
  • Perform in quality function to maximise and sustain continual improvement in standards by ensuring:
  • The most effective use of resources is made in the support of production processes.
  • Rapid communication of issues is made to the relevant management level.

Key Skills:

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office software.
  • Certified Internal Quality Auditor.
  • Good understanding of statistical process control (SPC).
  • Understand & use of measuring equipment - ruler, scales etc.

Desirable Skills:

  • Qualification to NVQ level 4 in a quality qualification
  • Experience in lean manufacturing / continuous improvement techniques & tools 5s, Kaisen etc.
  • Quality / Auditing experience in a 'lean culture' manufacturing environment
  • Awareness & experience of modern improvement tools & techniques
  • Relevant industry recognised Quality Assurance qualification.
  • Experience of working in a chemical, biological or pharmaceutical laboratory.
