Job Advert: Children Looked After Team (CLA)

Location: Lambeth, London

Salary: PO3 £44,862 rising in annual increments to £48,063 per annum incl. LW

Employment Type: Permanent / Full Time / Hybrid working

Are you passionate about providing high-quality care and support to children who are looked after by the local authority? Do you have experience in children's social work and a commitment to achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Children Looked After Team (CLA) at Lambeth Council.

As a Social Worker in our CLA team, you will play a key role in providing support, guidance, and advocacy to children who are looked after, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met. Working collaboratively with internal and external partners, you will help to create stable and nurturing placements for children in care, promoting their well-being and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support and intervention to children who are looked after, ensuring their safety, stability, and well-being.
  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with children, families, carers, and other professionals, ensuring they are tailored to meet the individual needs of each child.
  • Monitor and review the progress of children in care, identifying areas for additional support or intervention as needed.
  • Advocate for the rights and interests of children in care, promoting their participation in decision-making processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to children looked after.

Requirements:

  • Relevant social work qualification (Social Work England).
  • Experience in children's social work, particularly in working with children who are looked after.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, carers, and professionals.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, and best practices in children's services.
  • Commitment to promoting the rights and well-being of children and young people.
