Job Title: 0-25 Specialist Autism Social Worker

As part of our commitment to supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), we are seeking a dedicated and experienced 0-25 Specialist Autism Social Worker to join our team.

Role Overview: As a 0-25 Specialist Autism Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing support and assistance to individuals with autism spectrum disorder, their families, and caregivers. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess needs, develop tailored support plans, and facilitate access to services and resources that promote independence and well-being across the lifespan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals with autism spectrum disorder to identify strengths, needs, and goals.
  • Develop personalized support plans in collaboration with individuals, families, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide direct support and intervention to individuals and families, including advocacy, counseling, and crisis intervention.
  • Facilitate access to community-based services and resources, including educational, vocational, and recreational opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including educators, healthcare providers, and social services, to ensure coordinated and holistic support.
  • Provide consultation and training to colleagues, caregivers, and community partners on best practices for supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Registered with the Social Work England (SWE).
  • Significant experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder across the lifespan, including children, adolescents, and adults.
  • Strong understanding of autism spectrum disorder, including evidence-based interventions and best practices.
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to social work practice and disability services.
