My client is looking for a SENCO to help support the team.

As the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), you will play a crucial role in ensuring that students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) receive appropriate support and provision within the educational setting. You will be responsible for coordinating the provision for students with SEND, working closely with teachers, parents, external agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for these students.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Identifying and assessing students with special educational needs and disabilities.
2. Developing and implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) for students with SEND.
3. Coordinating support services and resources for students with SEND.
4. Providing guidance and support to teachers in implementing strategies to meet the needs of students with SEND.
5. Collaborating with parents, external agencies, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to supporting students with SEND.
6. Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions and support for students with SEND.
7. Keeping up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in the field of special education.

Qualifications:


- Qualified teacher status (QTS) with experience in special education.
- Additional qualifications in special education or SENCO accreditation preferred.
- Strong understanding of special educational needs and disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to special education.
