We have a fantastic opportunity for a Qualified Joiner at Manchester City Council. This is a full-time temporary role for the next 5 - 6 months, with the possibility of extension.

What is the role?

Manchester City Council are looking for a Joiner to provide a high-quality joinery service, undertaking visits to customers to install a range of minor adaptations which meet customers’ needs. You will carry out efficient, high-quality repairs and maintenance of minor adaptations as required.

What are your responsibilities?

Manchester City Council are looking for a Qualified Joiner, to join their minor adaptations team. You will provide a high-quality joinery service, undertaking visits to customers to install a range of minor adaptations which meet customer’s needs. You will also carry out efficient, high-quality repairs and maintenance of minor adaptations as required.

  • Role will include putting up Grab Rails and Stair Rails, amongst other adaptation in properties managed by the local authority.
  • Monitor, review, and evaluate equipment as required, to assist in determining suitable adjustments to ensure customer needs are met to the highest standard. 
  • Produce accurate and appropriate records manually and electronically to achieve service performance and efficiency.
  • Where the service user is disabled, every effort will be made to supply all necessary aids, adaptations or equipment to allow them to carry out all the duties of the role.  If, however, a certain task proves to be unachievable, job redesign will be given full consideration.

What skills do you Need?

  • Ideally must have minimum of 2 years qualified experience as a Joiner.
  • You will need to hold a full UK driving licence.
  • NVQ Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery qualification or equivalent
  • Valid Enhanced DBS on the update Service
  • Excellent people skills, as you will be speaking to the public, and other members of staff.
