Seven Resourcing are looking for a Qualified Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to work in Gloucester. This position is initially for a period of 6 months and is paying between £14.32ph PAYE or £17.54ph Umbrella. This role is full time Monday to Friday working from 9am - 5pm. This is a hybrid working role, 3 days from home 2 days from the office.

The role:

The successful applicant will respond to all high-risk referrals on a duty basis, providing immediate safety planning and advice. The role will require multi agency working with other professionals to safeguard high risk victims and their children. Some travel across Gloucestershire to engage with high-risk clients may be required on an ad-hoc basis and travel expenses will be covered for this. Understanding of statutory safeguarding procedures is essential. Comprehensive understanding of domestic abuse, the law (both criminal and civil), risk assessment and safety planning is required.

Key Responsibilities:

To provide a rapid responsive support service with a high quality of customer care, in line with the agreed values and aims of the service.

Provide support on the Helpline to victims of domestic abuse and external agencies.

Assess the risk  to the client using the DASH risk assessment.

Work in a multi-agency setting.

Present information both verbally and in a report to multi agency meetings and child protection conferences.

Assess risks relating to individual clients carrying out Risk Assessments in line with procedure, and re-assess risks as required.

Enable the achievement of agreed support outcomes, assisting and encouraging clients to make their own decisions and choices as appropriate.

Carry out specific support tasks relating to the support plan, as requested by the Management Team

Encourage customers to become actively involved in the development of the service we provide, and participate in any agreed consultation or involvement initiatives.

Ensure support provided is accessible to clients in terms of location and times.

Assist clients in attending legal and other appointments where necessary.

Liaise with relevant agencies on behalf of clients.

Feed back to the IDVA Team Leader any information related to the client's support needs or risk issues, and progress on support tasks.

Applicant Requirements:

Experience: 2 years' experience in a similar role.

Compliance: 2 years references & Enhanced DBS

Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours: 37 hours p/w.
