Qualified Social Work, Looked After Children (LAC) Team Manager

The London Borough of Croydon is seeking a skilled and passionate individual to join us as a Looked After Children (LAC) Team Manager. Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of social workers and support staff, ensuring the provision of excellent services to looked after children and their families.
  • Oversee the effective delivery of statutory assessments, care planning, and interventions for children in care, promoting their well-being, development, and stability.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including foster carers, schools, health professionals, and other agencies, to coordinate holistic support and achieve positive outcomes for children.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, maintaining high standards of safeguarding and promoting the rights and voices of children.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and support to team members, promoting their professional development and well-being.
  • Monitor and manage budgets, resources, and performance targets, contributing to strategic planning and service improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records, reports, and documentation in accordance with professional standards and statutory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current registration (SWE) and a recognized professional qualification. - ESSENTIAL
  • Extensive experience in a social work role, including substantial experience in working with looked after children and young people.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to deliver high-quality services.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to looked after children and child protection.
