The Role

A key management vacancy forming a pivotal part of the site Technical teams across our Coalville site has come available. This role will directly manage and lead the quality function across the site. The role takes responsibility for a very broad range of cross functional influence across the sites and Sofina group, to ensure that the highest standards of food safety of our products and processes are maintained and improved.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the Technical Manager in all aspects and ensure they are kept up to date of all site issues
  • Maintain the sites Quality Management System
  • Ensure you are familiar with work instructions for the area you are working in routinely and any areas that you cover. Lead the HACCP Team and ensure compliance of procedures and documentation on site.
  • Maintain the internal audit schedule including updates to any risk assessments
  • Assist with the internal audits as required
  • Review all projects coming through NPD for technical requirements
  • Report all supplier non-conformances to suppliers and close off returned actions
  • Carry out corrective action to rectify any problems that you find that may affect the product safety, legality or quality, Including Root cause Analysis
  • Authorisation to alter records ensuring justification for the alteration is recorded
  • When required you will:

o Assist in training new staff
o Participate in HACCP, traceability and other food safety and quality system reviews
o Carry out necessary actions to satisfy root cause corrective action
o Assist in providing authorisation for release of product from site ensuring that only products conforming to specification are despatched

  • Produce and maintain a corrective action system based on maintenance logs, non-conformance notes & actions raised through auditing and reviews
  • Be instrumental in improving the systems and procedures approach on site
  • Provide cover for the site Technical Manager

Skills and Experience Required

  • Ability to multi-task, work to deadlines, prioritise and deal with large volumes of work to a high degree of accuracy
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and liaise at all levels.
  • Excellent Excel/Outlook skills
  • Experience in Food Manufacturing - Essential
