Role Overview:

REED Procurement are working with a manufacturing company based in the Newport Valleys who are looking for a Purchasing Manager to take the lead on managing their supplier base, and contract negotiations. With most of the Operational Procurement duties taken care of, this is a role that be largely focused on strategic projects.

Reporting directly into the Supply Chain Manager who will offer the training and support you require, in order to get you up to speed with their business operations and processes.

Main Projects:

• Run tenders and evaluate bids for the company.

• Build and maintain a strong working relationship with suppliers on a global scale.

• Draft, negotiate, and agree tenders/contracts with new suppliers.

• Improve existing supplier contracts to ensure supplier performance is maximised.

• Work towards introducing a supplier Rating / Metrix system to monitor supplier performance.

• Conducting supplier Service Level Agreements and reviews subject to performance.

• Work towards a projected total cost saving for the company and take ownership for this project.

• Daily operation of the SAP system, so any experience with this MRP system would be an added benefit but not essential.

Working hours:

Monday – Thursday 8:00 – 4:30.

Friday – Enjoy a half day with a 12:00 finish each week.
