Primary Pupil Referral Unit - PRU Teacher - Secondary
We are actively seeking a PRU Teacher to join a supportive and welcoming team within a PRU based in East London, this will be based within their secondary school. The school delivers highest level of education to students from KS2 through to KS4, supporting young people who are unable to access mainstream education.
Ideal Candidate:
- Social Emotional Mental Health experience
- Experience of teaching with emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies
- Positive role model to support communication, with a sensitive, nurturing, and consistent approach
- Experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication teaching background
- Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships with vulnerable students
- Experience of working with challenging behaviour
Requirements:
- The passion to teach and inspire young people during a crucial stage of their personal and academic development.
- QTS or QTLS
- Experience working with disengaged students who have additional needs either in mainstream or SEND settings
- A nurturing, patient, empathetic and holistic approach
Although experience teaching in SEMH specialist settings is beneficial I would also love to hear from individuals who are interested in taking their first steps into SEND settings.
