Public Relations Manager

Hybrid Working - 2 days minimum in office

Forward Role have exclusively partnered with an outstanding education provider for neurodivergent children and young people in search of a new Public Relations Manager to join their growing team! As Public Relations Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping their public perception of the brands. The role will report directly into the Group Commercial Director, and accountable to the CEO and lead investment partner, your expertise will be pivotal in managing crisis situations and fostering positive media relations.

About the role:

  • Lead and execute the communication strategy with an emphasis on public relations, crisis management, and adverse media response.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive PR strategies and campaigns.
  • Serve as the primary contact for our retained PR agency, ensuring effective communication management.
  • Act as the first point of contact for media engagements, including out-of-hours responses.
  • Produce and coordinate timely communications materials such as press releases, talking points, and internal memos.
  • Identify and escalate emerging issues to senior management promptly.
  • Monitor and maintain the reputation tracker for adverse media.

What they are looking for:

  • 7+ years of experience in a PR role, either within an agency or in-house, preferably within the special education services sector.
  • Proven ability to manage high-stress situations and make decisive actions under pressure.
  • Exceptional ability to work with various stakeholders and collaborate effectively across a broad network of schools.
  • Passionate about service and highly organized, capable of multitasking and managing various projects simultaneously.
  • A self-starter interested in various PR projects, including crisis management and corporate communications.
