Job Description: We are currently seeking a proactive and personable Public Liaison Officer to join our client's team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in fostering positive relationships between the contractor and the communities in which they operate. As a Public Liaison Officer, you will serve as the primary point of contact for local residents, businesses, and stakeholders affected by the construction projects. You will ensure open communication, address concerns, and facilitate engagement throughout all stages of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main point of contact for inquiries, feedback, and concerns from the public regarding the construction projects.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to keep stakeholders informed about project timelines, milestones, and potential disruptions.
  • Liaise with local authorities, community groups, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations and address community needs.
  • Organise and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and events to promote transparency and gather input from residents.
  • Collaborate with project teams to proactively identify and mitigate potential community issues and risks.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to monitor community impact and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a public liaison or community engagement role, preferably within the construction or civil engineering industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and resolve conflicts diplomatically.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of local government regulations and planning processes related to construction projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
