Role Summary:
As a Public Affairs Officer at Money Wellness, you'll play a pivotal role in our External Relations team, engaging with stakeholders and policymakers to advocate for positive changes in financial policy. Reporting to the Director of External Affairs, you'll develop and implement strategic engagement plans aimed at fostering relationships with policymakers, while also raising awareness about the financial challenges faced by individuals. Your work will contribute to our mission of driving positive change and delivering excellent outcomes for our customers.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Director of External Affairs to design and execute innovative public affairs campaigns.
- Create compelling communication materials, including reports and briefing notes, to effectively convey our message to various stakeholders.
- Work closely with our customer experience team to incorporate user stories into our communications, adding depth and impact.
- Utilise available data and insights to craft communications that inform and influence policymakers.
- Manage, plan, and participate in events to further our engagement efforts.
- Stay abreast of policy developments in Westminster and Whitehall, providing timely updates to the team.
- Identify and proactively respond to government consultations and select committee inquiries, producing briefings to inform policymakers.
- Perform any other related tasks as necessary to support the objectives of the External Relations team.
Essential Criteria:
- A comprehensive understanding of politics and political processes in Westminster and Whitehall.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritise tasks effectively, and manage competing demands.
- Flexible and collaborative approach, with the capacity to work effectively within a team and across organisational boundaries.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Commitment to our mission and values, including a dedication to equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of your work.
- Travel to London will be needed about 1 a month
- The previous experience of working with politicians
Remote Role (with travel 1 a month into London)
37.5 hours per week with flexibility on working hours
25 days holiday + 8 BH
Salary 40k + based on experience
