Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant

Are you a Psychology graduate looking for a part-time or full-time role in Education?

Working hours: 8.30am – 3.30pm

At Milk Education, we are working closely with a successful partner SEND school in the Manchester area with multiple support staff vacancies. Many of our client schools have shown an interest in Psychology graduates for these roles, as they often have an interest in behaviour supported by academic theory, but also understand the importance of both well-being and additional learning needs.

These type of roles provide the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in a school setting for future career progression into teaching or working with children and young people.

The ideal Psychology graduate Teaching Assistant will:

• Communicate effectively with other staff and students, monitoring developments and progress
• Be composed, sometimes managing challenging behaviour and situations
• Transfer skills and theory to a practical school environment and have a genuine interest – potentially considering a future career working with young people and/or SEMH
• Be a positive role model with a proactive and confident approach
• Work on a 1:1 basis with students who require additional support
• Provide general classroom support
• Be patient and understanding of the students’ needs and circumstances
