Alexander Daniels are currently seeking a highly motivated Property Accountant to join a rapidly growing organisation based in Birmingham on a full-time, permanent basis. As a Property Accountant, you will be responsible for a mixed portfolio of properties, play a part in the month end accounts process and provide support for the finance manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Approving invoices and coding to the relevant budgets
  • Collating and monitoring service charge budgets, working with stakeholders to agree costs and reporting to tenants
  • Producing Actual v Budget comparisons and communicating internally to ensure expenditure is kept in line with budget
  • Service charge journalling end reconciliations
  • Dealing with queries
  • Reviewing income and expenditure
  • Posting prepayments and accruals
  • Identify opportunities to improve cost management for your portfolio.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • AAT Level 3 as a minimum
  • Ideally property and/or service charge experience
  • Experienced in financial analysis and/or budgeting and forecasting
  • Experience with accounting systems and Excel (lookups and SUMIFs minimum)
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Confident communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
