Project Planner
Project Planner / Yeovil / £15.70 per hour
As a member of the Operations Project Planning team based at our client, a leading Aerospace and Defence Organisation in Yeovil, you will be instrumental in creating and maintaining top-level reports and schedules. Your role will involve facilitating meetings with management, utilising contract data and schedules, and ensuring the correct running of these meetings. Additionally, you will implement planning and control processes to support the Operations Directorate and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure effective planning for all products and bids.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain governance reports for technical and direct labour according to business needs.
- Develop and maintain a level 1 plan, aligning with the planning process, covering projects for the next 5 years.
- Accurately forecast resource requirements at both top and detailed levels for the next 12 months and up to 5 years.
- Report on schedules, financial, and contractual milestones for all projects, providing timely and detailed information to various stakeholders.
- Facilitate and run top-level meetings with department heads to ensure technical labour plans are aligned with project requirements.
- Collaborate with Business Performance & Works Analysis team and other departments to improve planning and reporting processes.
- Document all processes accurately in departmental instructions.r.
Requirements:
- Computer literate with proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Financial awareness, including budget management and variance analysis.
- Knowledge of Earned Value techniques and processes.
- Ability to demonstrate understanding of planning techniques such as work breakdown structures, dependencies, risk contingency, resource constraints, forecasting, estimating, and level 1 and level 2 planning.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with advanced planning techniques.
This role is site based in Yeovil, Monday to Friday 37 hours per week
One year temporary contract with the potential to extend
