Interim Capital Project Manager– £450 – £550 per day – Offering Hybrid Working up to 2 days per week, on site – Reading– 6 Month Temporary Contract

Reed Talent Professionals are partnering with a large public sector organisation based in Reading, they are currently recruiting for a Capital Project Manager for a 6-month contract to start ASAP.

The Capital Project Manager will manage a project from RIBA stage 3+ through to completion.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Manage the delivery of the project using an agreed Project Management methodology.
  • Coordinate with workstream leads to ensure the design incorporates customer journey enhancements, sustainability, and IT integration.
  • Commission and coordinate multi-million-pound development and regeneration projects.
  • Lead on all stages of the project cycle, ensuring successful completion and evaluation.
  • Manage the project within budget constraints and agreed timetables.
  • Coordinate and report project progress to senior management.
  • Ensure accurate records are kept for audit purposes and carry out gateway reviews.
  • Secure and monitor funding sources, including grant funding and s106/CIL.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in managing construction project of £5+ million, ideally in an office environment and in local government.
  • Experience in managing a design and build project with a main contractor
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and the ability to effectively manage/oversee multiple project workstreams simultaneously
  • Matrix management experience
  • The ideal candidate will be articulate, able to communicate with multiple levels of clients and stakeholders, coordinating with various stakeholders
  • Experience in managing DHLUC funded projects a bonus
  • Professional Project Management qualification – Prince 2 Practitioner or equivalent.
  • Substantial experience in managing medium to large capital projects.
  • Experienced in risk management and the application of risk management systems.
  • Proficient in MS Project, MS Office Professional, and other project management tools.
  • Excellent literacy, numeracy, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate and operate effectively at a senior level.
  • Proven ability to build successful and effective project teams.

The successful candidate will need to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
