An experienced Project Manager with proven construction experience is needed to join our team at Blue Forest, a multi-award-winning luxury treehouse company based in East Sussex on a full-time basis. 

Blue Forest is an award-winning company that specialises in the design and build of high-quality tree houses for the private and commercial sectors. 

The candidate will required to lead on the delivery of the Business's private client projects and will be involved in schemes from design evolution to co-ordination of live works. The candidate will report directly to the Operations Director .

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review design work for jobs to ensure they are suitable for tender/construction
  • Prepare schedules of works, compile tender packages, issue tenders and pre-qualification questionnaires
  • Analyse tender returns and prepare cost plans.
  • Plan effectively and coordinate pre-construction and construction phase works
  • Appoint sub-consultants as required for surveys, SI, structural analysis or M&E design works 
  • Determine the labour requirements and select, hire, and oversee the work done by sub-contractors
  • Undertake contract administrative tasks, including issuing purchase orders with suppliers, and subcontract agreements with contractors
  • Certify subcontractor applications for payment / interim invoices in line with agreed terms/works completed on-site
  • Day-to-day project management: coordinate the delivery of materials, construction tools and equipment, and monitor and direct the progress in the construction site
  • Report back to the operations team through weekly meetings and monthly WIP reports
  • Ensure that all Health & Safety procedures are implemented and adhered to
  • Compile owner's manual/health and safety file and hand over project on completion
  • Act as a representative for the company, liaising directly with the client to ensure their expectations are met

Required Skills:

  • To have eye for detail and finishing to a high standard 
  • Motivated, confident and able to demonstrate their ability and proven track record in construction management
  • Should be commercially astute and able to work well with clients and project teams alike
  • Should have a positive disposition, be enthusiastic, motivated, and team-oriented 
  • Possess good communication skills, be organised and attentive to detail
  • Use their initiative and take responsibility for ensuring standards are met and improved, introducing new procedures, systems and checks where you see the need to improve the current system

Required Experience:

  • Proven experience in construction projects of various size, product and sector
  • HS&E awareness
  • Experience in procurement and D&B tenders
  • A degree in Construction Management or Project Management is preferable
  • SMSTS / First Aid / PUWER / PASMA / Manual Handling training is not essential but would be an advantage
