We're looking for an experienced landscape-scale conservation project manager to join a dynamic team in Wales. With many years of ground-breaking peat restoration, woodland creation and nature improvement work already underway, this is a unique opportunity to be behind accelerating delivery of our strategic vision.

What you'll be doing

More than a traditional project management role, you'll be responsible for leading the production, planning and implementation of a nature focused Vision for our two major upland landscapes in Wales. You'll consult with stakeholders, colleagues, and partners to build commitment to realising our ambitions, developing the evidence base to inform and steer decision-making.

You'll scope out opportunities for improving nature conservation and will work collaboratively with partners to ensure the effective use of grant-funding and evolving business models to support delivery. You'll lead directly on specific elements of project management and delivery, working with other membersof the project team, reporting to our Climate, Land and Nature Group. You'll draw on specialist expertise internally and externally in support.

Supported by Marketing and Communications colleagues you'll also engage both internally and externally to promote project outcomes and ensure engagement with our Vision.

Who we're looking for

We’d love to hear from you if you're:

  • able to demonstrate experience of successfully delivering complex end to end project/programme management, including defining resources, leading procurement securing project teams and matrix management across multiple projects/programmes
  • a Professional with technical knowledge and skills in project management demonstrated by a recognised project (AMP PMQ/Prince) or programme management (MSP) qualification
  • able to evidence ongoing CPD in your career to date
  • you're a flexible thinker and problem-solver, skilled at negotiating and building productive networks, and confident in using your expertise to influence decisions with senior leaders
  • a skilled communicator, with experience of managing complex and challenging situations with competing interests and a diverse range of people
  • a leader for inclusion, who finds ways to create an inclusive culture
  • able to demonstrate knowledge of the devolved policy and governance of Wales.
  • able to demonstrate knowledge of common land rights and management, together with an understanding of differing tenancy agreements
