We manufacture these unique products for multi-national corporate customers and have entered a major growth phase. As a result, we now have the opportunity to expand existing roles and scale our product range.

About the role

This role creates is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an exciting and expanding company, with an excellent working environment. You will be responsible for developing and driving the procurement for all the Urben projects, including prototyping through to large scale mass production.

Responsibilities

This role will be responsible for developing and driving the procurement for all the Urben projects. This includes prototyping through to large scale mass production. It is an exciting opportunity to grow and shape both the internal processes and external suppliers base, whilst making an impact on the profitability of the business.

  • Managing all aspects of materials supply into and through the business. Identifying and mitigating supply chain risks.
  • Providing leadership on the purchasing of the company’s wide range of products.
  • Liaising with the design team on the cost analysis for each product and the parts involved.
  • Purchasing and expediting material purchasing according to production schedule.
  • Managing and developing new and existing supplier relationships, managing all negotiations.
  • Monitor supplier performance and manage non-conformances.
  • Analysing inventory and controlling stock levels ensuring effective levels for the business.
  • Help implement and develop the existing ERP system.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve purchasing procedures and increase efficiency.
  • Identify and deliver further opportunities to reduce overall supply chain costs.
  • Work closely with the production team to ensure material is delivered accurately and on time.

Person specification

  • A team orientated, can do, positive outlook.
  • Must have previous experience as a Buyer, Senior Buyer or Strategic Buyer within a manufacturing or engineering business.
  • A strong understanding and experience with MRP/ ERP systems.
  • Technical background, able to read engineering drawings.
  • Ability to take ownership and be driven to achieve results.
  • The ability to use and understand, planning and procurement data / parameters to drive decision making.
  • Capable of working under-pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good time keeping, prioritisation and workload management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Proactive in suggesting new methods and techniques to improve efficiency.
