Project Accountant
Our client is an exciting service business with ambitious growth plans and is PE Funded.
They are looking to fulfil a newly created Project Accountant position.

Ideal role for a 1st or 2nd move after qualifiaction.
Reporting to the CFO, the Project Accountant role has no fixed location but the successful candidate
must be prepared to travel to the company's Head Office in Portsmouth.
Responsibilities and Duties
The position of Project Accountant involves a number of core tasks within the role but also many
one-off projects dependent on the business needs.
The ideal candidate would be expected to develop an understanding of all areas of the business and
add value to the group.
The Finance team is a small, efficient team and the ideal candidate will be expected to get involved in
all areas and will need a can-do attitude and the mentality to muck in as required.
Our client is planning to grow quickly so the ideal candidate will need to be able to develop with the
company.
For guidance purposes examples of types of work likely to be undertaken are as follows:
Core Tasks in support of the CFO:
? Maintain and update the Group forecast financial model used for forecasting and
budgeting for the short term and long-term planning process
? Where required prepare detailed reports on the company’s financial performance
including covenant testing and facility needs.
? Prepare budget and long terms plans
? Prepare budget and investor presentations
? Analyse financial viability of new opportunities, coordinating corporate finance,
managing company policies regarding capital requirements, equity and
acquisitions, as appropriate
? Develop and implement a weekly hours analysis from data extracted from the time
and attendance system (People Planner)
? Play a detailed role in potential acquisitions including analysing, assistance with
due diligence, liaison with external advisors and shareholders and integration.
? Ultimately in time assist the Group Finance Director with aspects of a potential
sale process including data room set up, financial plans, presentations and dealing
with potential buyers of the business.
? To assist the Group Finance Director with other ad hoc projects as necessary
Examples of project work-
? Support in M&A activity. Review of financial processes of targets and integration of financial
reporting into the Group
? Financial modelling for purposes of fund-raising and lenders.
? Review of Finance systems and implementation of new solutions.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria;
? A newly qualified ACA accountant, looking to make their 1st or 2nd move post qualification
? From an audit background with strong technical skills.
Personal qualities are likely to be as follows:
? Flexible and organised approach to work.
? A driven personality with a high degree of ambition.
? Attention to detail whilst working to pressured deadlines.
? Resilient and willing to challenge.
? Ability to maintain a positive attitude and good sense of humour during challenging times.
? Prepared to think and work outside normal parameters.
It is anticipated that, this role will act as a stepping stone either to a career in industry (as F.C
or F.D)
The ideal candidate will undoubtedly learn an incredible amount in the period whilst in office
and will have the opportunity to have direct contact and will work with senior board members
and other high profile external organisations.
