Cedar are recruiting an Interim Programme Manager to join a local authority based in the South East. Within this role, you will lead transformation and business change programmes across the organisation.

Rate: £600 per day (Inside IR35)

Working Pattern: 2 days in office on a weekly basis

Responsibilities

  • Plan and design the programme and proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues, and initiating appropriate corrective action.
  • Define the programme's governance arrangements.
  • Ensure effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the programme.
  • Manage the programme's budget on behalf of the SRO, monitoring expenditure and costs against delivered and realised benefits as the programme progresses.
  • Ensure the delivery of new products or services from projects to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the programme plan and programme governance arrangements.
  • Ensure there is allocation of common resources and skills within the programme's individual projects.
  • Manage third party contributions to the programme and communications with all stakeholders.
  • Report the progress of the programme at regular intervals to the SRO or programme sponsor.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience of delivering large, complex, multi-stakeholder programmes within a local authority.
  • Knowledge of risk management and experience of managing risk.
  • Awareness of information governance issues and legislation.
  • Well-versed in both Agile and Prince2 methodologies.
  • An understanding of the political context and environment.
  • An understanding of procurement processes and principles.
  • Financial awareness and budget management experience.
  • Collaborative individuals who thrive in diverse teams
  • Skilled in influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Proficient in managing Project Managers or Project Support Officers.
