Professional Indemnity Underwriter
We are currently partnering with a leading Global Insurer who are looking to add an Underwriter to join their London based International Professional Indemnity team.
Responsibilities include:
- Focus on renewal retention and new business production in a growing profitable PI portfolio.
- Has the ability to follow and question the unit's strategy in terms of broker, profession, and territory.
- Provide input and feedback at the weekly underwriting meetings.
- Develop a broker plan for each assigned producer/territory; and manage the relationship in terms of analysis, catch up meetings and entertainment.
- Attend face to face client presentations/meetings.
- Creates and utilizes marketing materials and other product collateral to support marketing and production initiatives.
- Provide technical input in product development.
- Fully underwrites all accounts in accordance with underwriting guidelines and individual authority granted by management.
- Monitors all industry and specific account trends. Implements a field service reputation that is recognized as superior in the industry.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Candidates will need a minimum of 2-5 years PI underwriting experience at either assistant underwriter or underwriter level.
- Power BI/PPL experience beneficial but not essential.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Economics background preferred but not essential.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work effectively in an at times a pressured environment.
- Appetite and hunger to learn and grow and 'go the extra mile'.
- Eye for detail.
- Ability to organize efficiently.
- Competent in all Microsoft packages.
