Location: North Norfolk 

We are looking for an experienced Production Shift Manager. Our client is no ordinary brand. They have two UK manufacturing sites, and offices in South Asia. 

My client colloberates with various food manufacturers nationwide. Their commitment to product innovation distinguish them from their competitors from having received multiple awards! 

As a Production Shift Manager you will lead and manage all aspects of your shift in relation to performance, standards, health & safety, food safety & quality, continuous improvement and people management.

We're seeking an experience food manufacturing Production Shift leader who can inspire and develop a team, driving excellent standards in all areas.

The key Responsibilities of the Production Shift Manager 

Health, Safety, and Environment:

  • Ensure compliance with legal health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Foster a safety-oriented culture and address health and safety concerns.
  • Maintain equipment safety and team competence through training.

Food Safety and Quality:

  • Guarantee adherence to food safety standards and protocols.
  • Uphold Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and deliver necessary team training.

Performance:

  • Lead efforts to enhance operational efficiency in line with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Utilize Short Interval Control to measure hourly performance.
  • Take corrective and preventive actions as required.

Plant Standards:

  • Uphold Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and advocate for cleanliness.
  • Implement and sustain 5S systems to optimize efficiency.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Contribute to the development of strategies to improve team and plant performance.

People and Team Development:

  • Develop training plans and ensure the adequacy of skills within the team.
  • Address performance issues proactively and manage staffing for optimal productivity.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience in team management within a FOOD manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with manufacturing machinery.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and planning abilities.
  • Competent in people management, coaching, and training.
