AWE is currently recruiting for a Production Planning Manager to provide planning services within an Operations Delivery Unit.

Location - Basingstoke/Reading

Package - From £43,970 but dependant on skills and experience, plus allowances.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensuring that customer requirements are planned and released to Manufacturing and Operational activities within the timescales required.
  • Overseeing the balancing of demand and supply across the whole Planning horizon by coordinating demand reviews and de-conflicting demand and capability.
  • Manage a long-range plan to enable comprehensive and realistic forecasting to meet all programme demand.
  • Leading, coaching, and developing a team of production planners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To objectively identify and analyse the impact of risks, changes and opportunities that can affect the delivery schedule, escalate risks and issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that performance metrics, procedures, processes, and systems are developed, implemented and of a quality that delivers against our programme requirements.
  • Liaises with other functions for clarification and coordination of balanced and de-conflicted production demands and plans.
  • Ensures appropriate governance of planning procedures to ensure full compliance.
  • Acts as deputy to Senior Planning Manager when required.
  • Coach, train and mentor peers and new members of the planning team to build team capability and resilience.
  • Continuously improve all aspects of Operations planning, including Master data, systems, and processes.
  • Support individual performance and succession planning including internal/external recruitment.
  • Develop and lead Visual Management board meetings ensuring all actions are being addressed.
  • Understands the needs of internal and external customers and works with them to ensure delivery timelines.
  • Work as part of the Tech Centre Management Team to deliver production targets.

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have experience of the following:

  • Production Planning.
  • Management of a team.
  • MS Office (Excel / Word / Outlook / PowerPoint / Project).
  • Experience of working in operational environment, production, and or supply chain functions.
  • Objective decision making based upon data.
  • ERP / MRP2 systems.

In addition, it would be beneficial to have experience of / have the following:

  • Team Leadership and development.
  • SAP S4/HANA.
  • Primavera (P6).
  • Inventory control processes.
  • Lean principles.
  • Integrated Operations Planning, encompassing Production, Maintenance, and Capital Projects.
  • Implementation of an ERP / MRP2 system.
  • A relevant manufacturing or planning related professional qualification.

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for this role. Candidates require 10 years continuous residency in the UK and must hold UK citizenship.
