8.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday

On-site in Birmingham

Our client are a leading manufacturer and supplier of titanium products. The Production Planner will manage daily, weekly and quarterly production schedules to achieve customer deliveries, variable costs and productivity in line with TOC and Daily flex requirements. They will be a key driver in development of advanced methods and techniques to meet production goals.

Job Description

  • Will agree OPD with Sales based on production plans using DP plan.
  • Create Quarterly TOC lines in liaison with Sales using DP plan
  • Update sales in a timely manner with recovery plans where appropriate. Generation of burndown plans on delinquencies
  • Responsible for material planning process for all materials through the defined manufacturing route to shipment to achieve daily targets on time and in full aligned with the OPD. Accountable for ensuring material availability required to meet the defined operational plan.
  • Responsible for base requirement planning, traveler creation, technical edits and generation of cutting plans, Including Toll orders (Witton).
  • Weekly Formulation of Blend requirements aligned to launch requirements (Witton).
  • Management of Stubs Inventory and planned production process, ensuring availability providing continuity of support to melt requirements (Witton).
  • Maintenance of forge planning model identifying daily furnace loading requirements (Witton).
  • Monitoring of material through yields to identify nonstandard yield at stage.
  • Allocation of material for new make or linking to independent requirement orders.
  • Tracking of base requirement and monitoring of base WTL to ensure delivery to plan.
  • Ensuring Work centre load and schedules/WTLs are aligned to optimize Operational performance
  • Ensure WTLs or schedules/plans are available lineside in operations.
  • Utilise the plant capacity model ensuring any constraints are managed accordingly through optimization of schedules
  • Responsible for coordinating production to meet customer OTD requirements, controlling flow of product, materials and identification of Labour requirements throughout the department
  • Responsible for operational planning to achieve 100% OTAS
  • Will support the line walk daily
  • Work with operational managers to determine required future staffing levels, load and capacity model.
  • Will liaise with Maintenance and Plant Engineers creating the windows to hand over key equipment for the appropriate maintenance, to ensure throughput and equipment effectiveness is not compromised
  • Manage all subcontractor requirement associated with meeting the MRP signal including weekly schedules
  • Identify SAP master data changes as required to ensure route optimization, timing and costs.
  • Manage TOC line daily and weekly schedules through tableau/PowerBi
  • Must continuously improve planning of material to reduce lead times and improve and optimise WIP inventory and stock levels
  • Responsible for inventory management by identifying opportunities to maximise utilization of material, e.g., E&O and including stocktake, working in a cross functional team.

  • Demonstrated experience of Production Planning in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated professional advancement in a manufacturing environment
  • Qualified to HND level in relevant subject
