Permanent: Production Planner - 12 Months FTC

Location: Rugby

Hours of work: Monday and Friday 0800-1530 and Tuesday-Thursday 0800-1600

Salary: 41,341.23

Our client in Rugby who runs a fast-paced manufacturing facility has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Planner. Main purpose will be to Prepare, optimize and facilitate a production plan which meets the needs of the Swiss Principal. Optimizes the effective utilization of the manufacturing facility. Daily update of all relevant production and Logistics reports. Departmental support when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produces reports as required including, inventories and held raw materials.
  • Daily planning activities as preparing weekly production plan, coordinating the forecast input and initial sequencing.
  • Manage the production plan and arrange raw material supply for plan: projects / customer approvals / maintenance / trials etc.
  • Checks that all graphics requirements and production formats are approved and in place to meet the production plan.
  • Establish an optimum production plan which meets the requirement and optimises the effective running of the manufacturing operation.
  • In conjunction with company Principal adapt the production plan to accommodate extraordinary circumstances e.g. shutdowns, quality issues, down-time etc.
  • Proactively communicate planning problems to all relevant parties.
  • Using SAP to set up new labels and maintain master data.
  • Responsible for Alu coil data, booking onto SAP, calling into plant, weekly and month end counts.
  • Dealing with Logistics and Transport queries and solving queries.
  • Utilise the appropriate software systems necessary to carry out the key responsibilities of this role.
  • Assisting the Stores function when required and other duties as needed.

Person Requirements:

  • Business Degree or equivalent qualification (graduate level) is desirable, though not essential.
  • Minimum GCSE A to C or equivalent in English and Maths is essential.
  • IT skills and SAP knowledge would be desirable, though not essential.
  • Experience of glass FMCG manufacturing process would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate problem solving techniques.
