Various Shifts Available

6am-2:30pm

2:00pm - 10:30pm

Overtime available

Pay:

Salary of £10.42 - £12.91 per hour

Working as a Production operative in Fakenham:

You will work accurately under pressure, safely and securely, and possess a desire to learn & develop. The role is physical and hands-on.

  • Unloading and pre-sorting of linen
  • towels and products from the vans and lorries arriving on the loading bay ready for processing.
  • Sorting dirty laundry ready to be washed.
  • Load/Unload the Continuous Batch Washer (CBW) or commercial washer, in the correct manner as trained.
  • Load/Unload the wet/dry products into the dryers as trained.
  • Move linen through factory floor as directed to the next required station for their processing to continue.
  • Complete quality checks on the items as they are fed through the pressing stations and folding stations to the required standard as trained.
  • Any items found below quality, at the press and folding areas place in the correct area for re-wash whilst maintaining good productivity.
  • Packing finished items for delivery to our clients and loading linen and other items onto the vans as required.
  • Helping with other general duties within the production facility which may include cleaning, the removal of waste and other duties on site.
  • Ensuring you are adhering to our Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) at the plant and each piece of equipment at all times as trained.
  • Ensure good housekeeping practices are in operation at all times to reduce risks around the plant of trips, slips and fire.
  • Repairer - To repair garments using a flatbed sewing machine, overlocker and bar tacking sewing machine to a high standard.

Skills

  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to undertake repetitive tasks whilst maintaining focus.
  • Competent with computers and have a basic understanding of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand basic English.
  • Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be able to work well within a team, be able to take initiative and be a highly responsible and caring individual.
  • You should also be motivated and committed to the role. Experience in a high volume production environment is beneficial, but full training will be given.
  • The role is working on a production line, so you should be comfortable standing for long periods of time, have good manual dexterity and an eye for detail.
