Production Manager

GMP Recruitment are proud to be in partnership with one of the world's largest suppliers of advanced aerospace and defence products with an international reach. We are recruiting on their behalf for an experienced Production Manager to join their team on a full time, permanent contract.

To be considered for this position you must have experience in a hard production environment, in either Aerospace or Automotive. You must have experienced the pressures of customers both internal and external. You will be able hold technical conversations and question accordingly, when running production.

The successful candidate can expect a salary up to £60k, which is pending relevant experience, 8%, bonus, double match pension, private health, and health care cash plan plus excellent additional benefits.

As Production Manager you will supervises entry and intermediate professional level employees, Team Leaders and Superintendents of production employees and sets day-to-day goals. You will confidently manage cell productivity and guides scheduling, sequencing of work, and production innovation to optimize production.

Production Manager main duties:

· You will ensure all quality related items for multiple cells are complete and documented to meet established quality standards

· Guide cost reduction and process improvement to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness

· Plan and executes scheduling for multiple cells or a complex cell to meet production schedules

· Guide the sequencing of work, such as build and delivery for multiple cells or a complex cell to optimise productivity

· Supervise activities for materials and logistics problem resolution for multiple cells to ensure availability of materials and smooth operations

· Guide production innovation of multiple cells or a complex cell to enhance the cell's production capabilities

· Interface with customers to understand customer needs and issues to ensure the customer receives satisfactory standards of services

· Manage cell performance and productivity for multiple cells or a complex cell to maximise productivity

Production Manager required skills and experience:

• Demonstrated experience operating in Quality / Manufacturing fields (degree or equivalent is desirable)
• Demonstrate a proven background to resolve problems of high complexity using structured techniques
• BEng in Engineering Discipline
• Working towards IEng
• Experience in relation to fitting, welding & machining is desirable
• University degree +3 years in an Engineering or Manufacturing subject
