Production Engineer

Overview

Highly successful SME electronics manufacturing company require experienced Production Engineer to provide support to the manufacturing team and work to maximise production efficiency. This role is office based at a convenient location in Staines upon Thames.

About the role

Reporting to the Production Manager the Production Engineer will work in a customer facing role to diagnose any faults within the manufacturing process and work towards a process of continuous improvement. Key duties include:

• Hands on management of the production function and providing technical support to production operatives
• Ensuring all customer orders are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
• Providing a technical diagnosis for any returned products and providing a full report with corrective action for each customer in accordance with the Service Level Agreement.
• Completing a diagnosis and reporting with regard to any supplier returns
• Working with the product testing team to provide an analysis of faults for non shipped products and looking to improve the production process to ensure minimum product failures
• Responsible for the inventory & maintenance of all production equipment
• Overseeing the workload and setting objectives for the Engineering Technician
• Working to develop the skills and competence of the production team
• Engaging with a process of continuous improvement to increase efficiency, production and customer satisfaction.

About you

• You will have a proven track record as a Production or Manufacturing Engineer and ideally have experience within the Electronics/ PCB sector
• The successful applicant will have strong written and verbal communication skills and be capable of working within a customer facing position
• In addition you will have a strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately diagnose problems and work to implement corrective action.
