Premier Recruitment Group has the privilege to recruit on behalf of our very prestigious client based in Rainham, Essex. We are recruiting for experienced and forward thinking AssistantDay Shift Supervisor. This is full time and permanent position and working for very well established company. Very interesting and varied role with a scope for progression.

Must have machine operator and supervisory experience, operating forklifts and understanding yields/waste & OE.

Rotating Days

Week 1: Monday - Thursday 6am-2pm Friday 6am-1pm (will be asked to come in earlier for starting up of machines 5:30am)

Week 2: Monday - Thursday 13:45 - 21:45 Friday 12:45 - 19:45 (will be asked to come in earlier for handover 13:15)

Overall purpose of job:

  • Assistant Shift Supervisor is responsible for the production line they are assigned to on this shift.
  • This role also supports the shift supervisor in maintaining the performance of the classic packing hall facility on the shift & take over the running of the shift in the absence of the shift supervisor.
  • Same as a supervisor the assistant shift Supervisor is required to lead and support Production, Dispatch and Lowbay warehouse teams. This role directly reports to the Shift Supervisor and in his absence have a direct communication link with the Packing Hall Manager.
  • Provide knowledge and support on operating packing machine equipment and leading the crew on each line and deliver the KPIs set for the shift.

Key areas of responsibility:

Overall responsibility all shift-based activities including operations, dispatch area and Lowbay area.

Deputising for leadership and management of

  • Packing Hall Team
  • Dispatch Team
  • Lowbay team members
  • Responsible for SH&E, Food safety and quality, Production delivery and Cost control

Qualifications/Experience required:

  • NVQ Experience Machine Operator with leadership qualities
  • IOSH Managing Safely or similar safety qualifications
  • Experience of working in confine spaces & working at height
  • MEWP and FLT/ Reach truck License holder
  • Training & Knowledge of BRC and HACCP Food standards
  • Knowledge of SCADA / equivalent Manufacturing operating systems
  • Ability to complete line checks and records for output and performance on daily basis.
  • Knowledge of setting, fault finding and improving performance of automatic packing lines
  • Flexible to work on days and Nights if required
  • Deputising experience or knowledge when stepping in for Shift Supervisor
