Are you a talented Procurement Manager looking for an exciting new opportunity? Our client, a leading manufacturer and supply specialist in the UK, is seeking a dynamic personable individual to join their procurement team in Westhoughton.

The Role:

As a Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the sourcing capabilities and requirements of the organisation. Collaborating with department managers, you will evaluate suppliers to find cost-effective and high-quality solutions for all products and services needed by the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with key stakeholders to understand their product and service needs.
  • Manage all procurement activities, including negotiating supplier agreements and tender management.
  • Delegate tasks and supervise the work of a small procurement team.
  • Lead and manage the procurement team, ensuring adherence to agreed service level agreements.
  • Provide direction, coordination, and evaluation of procurement activities, making recommendations to leadership when necessary.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders and supply chain partners to drive business improvements.
  • Develop robust policies and procedures for risk management and mitigation, in collaboration with Supply Chain Management.
  • Create an annual buying plan, reviewing and optimising the supply chain regularly.
  • Ensure the department is appropriately resourced to manage workload effectively.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, with a focus on building and developing a supply chain within the relevant industry.
  • Recognised procurement accreditation is preferred.
  • Strong financial and numerical skills.
  • Attentive to detail with exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent networking and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with supplier or third-party management software (advantageous).
  • Outstanding communication skills to establish and nurture internal and external relationships.
  • Willingness to travel to supplier sites.
  • Experience in people management.
  • Commercially aware and business oriented.
