At Babcock we're working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Procurement Coordinator at our Lakeside, Portsmouth site.

The role

As a Procurement Coordinator, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Day to day, you'll responsible for administering the process for purchasing goods and services within the R2P Business Services Procurement team.

  • Review and process all requisitions and POs for compliance at Group-wide level and check in accordance with divisional policies and inter-company SLAs
  • Maintain and manage the order books for multiple Babcock entities
  • Manage the Remedy sourcing activity queue and manage multiple departmental procurement mailboxes
  • Monitor deliveries and receipt of all IT order on SAP
  • Maintain and update supporting documentation including policy documents, user guides and process flows

This is a full-time 12 month FTC at 37.5 hours per week based following a mostly remote working arrangement with the requirement to travel to our Lakeside, Portsmouth site once per month.

Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met. We are happy to consider flexible, blended working, including part-time, condensed hours, and job sharing. Please ask about alternative patterns of work at interview.

Essential experience of the Procurement Coordinator:

  • Experience of working with the Requisition to Pay process
  • Comfortable with Excel, databases and IS Systems (preferably Remedy and SAP)
  • SAP/SRM knowledge
  • E-Procurement solutions knowledge
  • Proficient in MS Excel (knowledge of Pivot Tables and Graphs is desirable)

Qualifications for the Procurement Coordinator:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve BPSS, MOD SC and MET Police SC security clearance for this role.
