Job Title: Procurement Assistant

Locations: Atherstone (South Birmingham)

• Utilise expertise to support category analysis, identifying cost savings, efficiency's, and innovations in the supply base.
• Lead the end-to-end tender process alongside the National Procurement Manager
• Initial stakeholder engagement & base-lining
• Definition of sourcing requirements
• Market research & engagement with suppliers
• Management of tender build, launch, and process
• Evaluation and analysis post-tender
• Shortlisting of suppliers
• Negotiation of commercial & contractual terms
• Final evaluation and analysis
• Selection of suppliers
• Recommendation and award of contracts
• Proactively interrogate spend data to uncover cost reduction opportunities.
• Negotiate contractual terms and conditions.
• Implement Supplier Relationship & Contract Management practices with strategic partners.
• Assist in the development of category strategies with the National Procurement Manager.
• Coordinate effectively with Global Procurement colleagues in Vienna on pan-European procurement programs.

Ideal Candidate:

• Background in Procurement, Indirect Buying
• Experience in Retail, FMCG procurement
• Demonstrated track record of achieving business savings.
• Proficiency in commercial and contractual negotiations, including drafting and negotiating terms and conditions.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to cultivate stakeholder and supplier relationships.
