Process Engineer Plastic Coatings

A key client of ours is looking for a contract Process Engineer (Plastic Coatings) to join its team for at least a 3-6 month contractual period. This is a well-regarded precision manufacturing business that offers flexible working hours, hybrid working, an hourly rate of circa £40p/h outside of IR35, and an opportunity to work within its modern-day engineering facility. Process Engineer duties include -

• Review current processes and existing methods of manufacture.
• Work on volume outputs, scrap/rework, quality, safety, and delivery commitments.
• Ensure that existing equipment and machinery are kept in good working order.
• Recommend new equipment when and where necessary.
• Support with the creation of new manuals and staff training where necessary.
• Assist with plant layouts to ensure material flow is maximised.
• Help to drive continuous improvement/kaizen programs on site.

Process Engineer desirable skills and experience -

• Experience working within a similar role (Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, etc).
• Extensive experience with plastic injection moulding, coatings, plating, and paint.
• Relevant manufacturing/mechanical engineering education (HND/HNC).
• Ability to demonstrate the use of tools such as FMEA, VSM, Control Plan, and CPK.
