Probation Officer – Youth Justice – Nottingham

Are you a passionate, dedicated Probation Officer looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a Probation Officer to join the Youth Justice service based in Nottingham.

Umbrella Pay- £20 per hour

18/02/2024 – 3 months initially

Monday to Friday, 37 hrs/week – Hybrid

The role:

  • Managing a caseload of eligible young people and preparing them for transition, through assessment and developing multi agency intervention plans of support
  • Intervention will be both direct sessions but also working within the wider multi agency forum which surrounds such young people
  • The role will also include working closely with the Youth Justice transition lead in striving to develop and improve partnership practice within this specialist area
  • Providing information and advice to criminal courts, other criminal justice agencies and partner organisations
  • Supervise offenders subject to community orders and licences and during custodial sentences
  • To undertake the full range of offender management tasks with offenders assessed at all levels of risk of serious harm including high and very high
  • To undertake the full range of offender management tasks with offenders assessed at all levels of risk of serious harm including high and very high
  • To use computer-based systems to produce, update and maintain records and other documentation within agreed timescales
  • To ensure timely and effective referrals to, and relationships between, offender management, court teams, victim contact units, interventions, Approved Premises, prisons and external agencies to enhance positive outcomes, manage risk and reduce reoffending
  • To undertake prison, home or other alternate location visits as required

Requirements:

  • A passion for working with young people is essential and the recognition of the complex needs and barriers young people face when transitioning into an adult criminal justice setting
  • PQF Honours Degree/Graduate Diploma and Level 5 Diploma in Probation Practice; or Diploma in Probation Studies; or Diploma in Social Work (Probation option); or CQSW (Probation option)
  • Knowledge and understanding of the work of the Criminal Justice System and the Probation Service
  • Enhanced Child DBS registered to the Update Service
