Private Client Solicitor

GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with one of the West Midland’s leading Legal Firms. We are supporting their recruitment for a Private Client Solicitor to join their Stafford office on a full time, permanent basis.

This position is working Monday - Friday 09:00am - 17:00pm and you will receive a competitive salary, based on experience.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years PQE and have the ability to manage a full caseload and have experience of dealing with all types of Private Client matters including: Trusts Tax planning, Wills and Inheritance and Estate administration.

Alongside fee-earning responsibilities, you will also be responsible for assisting our Private Client department head and have experience in generating new leads.

Private Client Solicitor main duties:

• Generate your own new leads and work with our extensive residential property team to build your caseload.
• Where litigation can be avoided, offering practical solutions to defuse conflict and advise on resolution of matters by negotiation, mediation or other alternative dispute resolution.
• Always Providing outstanding client care and maintaining Davisons’ highly professional approach

Required skills and experience:

• The STEP qualification would be an advantage but is not essential.
• Excellent understanding of private client law.
• First class technical skills encompassing all aspects of wills, tax and probate work.
• Takes responsibility for personal and professional development and ensures compliance with any compulsory professional education requirements.
• Resilient and well-organised - an ability to manage your own caseload and to identify and prioritise when urgent action is required in support of a case.
• A strong team player who supports colleagues and the work of the team.
• Experience with applications to the Court of Protection e.g., statutory wills, would be beneficial.
• A strong grounding in all aspects of private client work with relevant experience of advising on a wide range of matters at a level of complexity commensurate with your experience.
