My client is a prestigious and well-established law fim based in West Sussex, known for its exceptional legal services and commitment to client satisfaction. With a strong reputation in the industry, the firm offers a supportive and dynamic work environment that encourages professional growth and success.

The firm is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join as the Head of Department for the Private Client division. This pivotal role involves leading and managing a team medium sized team of fee-earners and support staff. The Head of Department will be responsible for overseeing department operations, managing their own caseload, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional client service.

You can expect to undertake the full spectrum of Private Client work including Estate Administration, Wills, LPA's, Deputyship Applications, Trusts and Estate Planning.

The ideal candidate for the position should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Legal Expertise: Qualified as a fee-earner (Solicitor or CILEX) with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Private Client law. STEP qualification would be advantageous.

  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and manage a team, fostering a positive work culture and promoting collaboration among team members.

  • Private Client Experience: Strong knowledge and expertise in a range of Private Client areas, including probate, wills, powers of attorney, deputyship applications, assisting the elderly client, and trusts and estate planning.

  • Business Development: Proven track record of driving business development initiatives and implementing effective marketing strategies to expand the department's client base and enhance its growth.

  • Client Focus: A genuine commitment to delivering exceptional client service, with the ability to empathize with clients during challenging and sensitive situations.

  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey complex legal concepts to clients and colleagues. Strong collaboration skills to foster effective working relationships within the firm.

  • Ambition and Drive: A highly motivated and ambitious individual who demonstrates enthusiasm, determination, and a proactive approach to achieving professional success and contributing to the firm's growth.
