This distinctive London-based law firm are looking to recruit an Associate from 3 years’ PQE + to join their successful private client disputes group.

About the Role

The firm's matters often have a cross-border element, so their fee earners frequently liaise with global businesses and specialists in overseas jurisdictions

  • The private client disputes team sits within the broader litigation practice, which has particular expertise in high value and complex multi-jurisdictional trust disputes.
  • They have also recently co-ordinated trust-related litigation in a number of different jurisdictions.

The team work closely with the firm's market-leading private client team to provide a seamless service and to ensure that tax issues are fully integrated into the strategy for resolving a dispute.

Key duties will include:

  • Advising clients in relation to disputes arising in the context of trusts, estates, probate and other private client-focused issues;
  • Coordinating advice cross-jurisdictionally and between multiple firms;
  • Liaising with clients and service providers in multiple jurisdictions and across multiple disciplines;
  • Drafting of correspondence, instructions to counsel and other advisers, witness statements, affidavits and other court documents;
  • Independent working on smaller matters;
  • Team working on more complex, high value, multi-jurisdictional matters;
  • Working closely with the non-contentious private client team, fraud litigation group, general commercial litigation team and other teams from across the firm

The Candidate

  • Strong academic qualifications from degree upwards;
  • 3 + post-qualification experience from a highly regarded litigation or private client practice;
  • The ability to advise on and deliver commercial solutions to complex disputes;
  • Ambitious, with a genuine commitment to develop their professional and legal skills and the profile of the team;
