Prison Security OSG

Your new companyYou will be working for HMP Send, located in Woking, as an OSG Escort. HMP Send is an adult closed women's prison, holding circa 200 prisoners.
Your new roleYour role of an OSG- Security officer will be to carry out security and support practices for operational purposes throughout the prison establishment. Responsibilities will include working on the prison gate, welcoming and checking-in visitors, escorting people around the premises and general assistance and administration throughout the day. You will also carry out vehicle checks and monitor CCTV. You will also be required to assist with the new enhanced gate security check including body checks/ scanning etc… Although you will not be required to manage and maintain prisoners, you will see them on site.
Other duties include:- Escorting contractors & vehicles- Checking & searching visitors- Radio handling- Supervision of visitors- Stores duties- Patrolling perimeter and grounds- Routine administrative work- Contractor tool checks- Searching buildings- Canteen and kit exchange duties- Health & Safety procedures- Radio operation
This role operates on an unsocial working shift pattern, meaning you will be required to work days, nights and weekends, with your shifts being awarded to you well in advance. This is a full-time position, only candidates who drive and have a vehicle will be considered, due to the location of the prison.

Hourly rates
- Standard, working hours: £14.31 p/h (inclusive of holiday)

- Weekday overtime: £21.59 p/h (inclusive of holiday)

- Weekend overtime: £26.60 p/h (inclusive of holiday)

What you'll need to succeedYou will not require previous experience as you will receive full-on-job. You will need to be a strong communicator, level-headed and security conscious. You will be able to work well in a team and have excellent interpersonal skills. You will be required to provide 2 satisfactory references, one from your most recent employer, and will be subject to full SSCL prison clearance.
