About the Role:

The Energy Division at ARM is currently seeking a Principal Welding Engineer (In-water Engineering) to join a Leading Nuclear Defence Client

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop wet welding capability within the department.
  • Work with the client's Weld Quality Management System to ensure quality practices are followed.
  • Review wet welding supplier documentation and provide technical answers.
  • Develop and qualify new wet welding procedures to AWS D3.6M standards.
  • Act as a department representative on wet welding projects, providing technical guidance.
  • Author technical engineering reports/proposals for bespoke wet welding techniques
  • Support other business units and sites with welding expertise.
  • Enthusiastic and experienced engineer needed for new wet welding venture in the department.

What you need to succeed:

  • Candidate must have an engineering background through a graduate training scheme, degree, or experience as a welding engineer.
  • Excellent understanding of welding processes and techniques required.
  • Strong personal organisation and communication skills are needed.
  • Experience in wet welding and working with AWS D3.6M is a must.
  • A high degree of computer literacy and experience with engineering software is advantageous.
  • Prioritisation of health and safety in the workplace is essential.
  • Must demonstrate behaviours aligned with their principles.
  • Required qualifications include being a British National and capable of holding NNPI, PSA, and atomic security clearances.
  • Must be a Chartered Engineer
  • Desirable qualifications include CIWE/CEWE Status and MSc in Welding Engineering
