Murray McIntosh are currently seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join a key client on a contract basis. Here's a detailed overview of the role:

In this position, you'll assume technical leadership responsibilities throughout the design and development phases of our client's products. Your role will involve offering expert technical guidance and leadership across the entire engineering life cycle, leading a diverse team of specialists.

Utilising cutting-edge methods, tools, and technology, you'll oversee all aspects of the product development life cycle, including engineering analysis, requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, building, and product support.

Moreover, you'll interface with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders, addressing various factors encompassing Systems, Software, Electrical, and Mechanical engineering.

Candidates must be eligible to obtain SC clearance, and we can assist with the application process. BPSS will be conducted to facilitate a prompt start.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product teams to steer engineering endeavours.
  • Offer technical leadership on designated work packages.
  • Guide and mentor project team members.
  • Manage requirements throughout the engineering life cycle.
  • Produce a variety of technical documentation and reports.
  • Contribute technical insights to bidding activities.
  • Oversee product development from prototype stage.
  • Coordinate integration and production qualification activities.
  • Generate work packages.

Required Skills:

  • Extensive experience as a Systems Engineer.
  • Proficiency in electrical design and product development.
  • Previous involvement with combat systems is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with SYSML management tools like EA is preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of requirements capture.
  • Prior experience utilising DOORS for requirements management.
  • Sound knowledge and application of model-based systems engineering.
  • Previous experience in team leadership.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Previous involvement with UK MOD Maritime Weapons Equipment projects.
