Salary: Up to circa £55,000 depending on experience

The opportunity:

Are you an experienced Systems Engineer looking for an opportunity in a world leading company? If so this exciting role within our growing Data link Systems organisation here at MBDA which provides missile data link capability could be just for you!

As a Principal Systems Engineer you will be focussing on the creation of the systems behavioural model of a Data Link System within a key product program. The role requires close working with the Weapons System team and the Data Link equipment design authority to bring together the required information flow and functional requirements.

A strong experience with both Systems Engineering and Model Based Systems Engineering is essential. Knowledge of RF systems and data links, while beneficial, is not crucial. We will support you to gain this knowledge as part of your role.

Essential experience:
  • Creation and ownership of MBSE behavioural models
  • Requirements definition and management
  • Systems design
  • Good communication skills with the ability to produce high quality written reports and presentations to internal and external customers
Desirable experience:
  • Leading design reviews across the product lifecycle
  • Technical leadership of junior engineers
  • System level functionality proving

This is a rapidly developing product area within MBDA, with many exciting opportunities to work on both new and established products.

Our teams have a common goal for the delivery of product design solutions that meets the customer's requirements to the schedule and cost agreed. You'll be able to significantly contribute to meeting the expectations of both MBDA and the customer.

Our projects offer you the opportunity to work with a specialist team developing and managing technically challenging technology within MBDA.

What we're looking for from you:
  • Degree qualified in a STEM subject or equivalent
  • A strong background in systems engineering across the full product life cycle
  • The ability to work autonomously within a multi-skilled team with a good understanding and dedication to achieving project goals.
  • Ideally, you will have experience in providing problem assessments, and proposing design solutions within a culture of innovative thinking.
