Principal Structural Engineer

My client, a global defence leader, are looking for a Principal Structural Engineer to ensure structures and equipment are verified against naval shock requirements. You will set requirements for sub systems to ensure overall boat requirements are met. You will manage sub-system maturity in relation to naval shock and will provide design guidance to both internal and external stakeholders at design reviews. You will also support the development of junior engineers within the team.

Required Experience:

  • Experience of undertaking structural design calculations (i.e. bolted joints/bending moment/shear stress)
  • Understanding of material strength properties and limits (elastic and plastic properties)
  • Awareness of setting functional requirements and managing verification, validation and qualification evidence
