Principal Housing Disrepair Lawyer – London – Competitive Hourly Rate (DOE) – Hybrid Working

Duration: 3-month ongoing contract

Hourly Rate: Competitive hourly rate (DOE)
Venn Group’s legal team are working with a reputable London basedLocal Authority to assist with their search to recruit a LocumPrincipal Housing DisrepairLawyer.
The ideal candidate for this role will be either an experienced Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILEx who can demonstrate having significant experience in General Housing Law, Housing Litigation (including disrepair claims and possession proceedings) or landlord and tenant disputes. As well as having previous managerial experience.
Local Government experience is preferable but not essential for this role provided there is significant relevant experience.
Duties shall include:
1- To undertake and manage a complex caseload including some work at the highest and most confidential corporate level
2- Providing legal advice and drafting reports, whether in respect of the management policies of Legal Services, procedural or legal requirements of the Council
3- Representing the Council in hearings, arbitrations, tribunals appeals and inquiries
4- Supporting and assisting Counsel as appropriate
5- Allocation of work to staff and providing advice, guidance and supervision of staff as necessary
6- To deputise for the Head of Legal Services as and when required
