Your Responsibilities:

• Conduct safety analysis activities such as HAZOPs, FFA, FTA, and FMECA in line with NG safety processes and guidance from Def Stan 00-056 and IEC61508.

• Generate safety requirements ensuring system design meets customer's safety targets and derived safety targets.

• Present complex safety arguments to internal and external stakeholders, influencing safety decisions.

• Collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams to uphold the companies reputation by delivering high-quality outputs.

• Support audits during internal and external design reviews and safety committee meetings.

Your Experience:

• Proven experience in Systems Safety within the UK Defence industry.

• Degree, HND, or HNC in Engineering or Safety Management related discipline or equivalent experience in Systems Safety Engineering.

• Familiarity with international and defence standards such as IEC 61508 and Def Stan 00-056.

• Knowledge of safety assurance of COTS PE-based systems or high-integrity software.

• Experience in safety/reliability analysis techniques including hazard identification, FMECA, FTA, and Functional Failure Analysis.

• Understanding of tools and techniques used in Risk Assessments and developing ALARP justifications.
